I have lost count of the amount of times that I have heard people say: “When I was younger we didn’t have a choice” with regards to school. That might be true but we had a choice to learn. Is this too simplistic a statement? Possibly it is, but at the heart of all learning there is a choice. Give people the opportunity and the guidance, then it becomes a viable choice.
My favourite tutoring moment this week came from a ten year old student, who I have been helping with her Maths, for the past three weeks.
She asked her Mum to go back home and bring her Maths book to show me, so that I could see what she’s been doing. After our lesson, she took a photo on her phone, so that she can show her teacher what we’ve been working on.
Earlier this month, I was approached by Cylex – an online business directory – to give an interview for their website. I graciously accepted and the interview has now been published.
